hi,
recently i installed debian 6.0.4 in my hp probook 6460b..
my rj-45 is working properly and am able to connect to internet.
but my wifi is not working. my laptop is supporting intel-centrino-advanced-n-6205. i have installed the driver in following way

$cp iwlwifi-6000g2a* /lib/firmware FATAL: Module iwl6000 not found $modprobe iwl6000g2a
FATAL: Module iwl6000 not found but wifi is not working.. can anyone please help me how to download and install the driver The module for your card is iwlwifi and its firmware is in package firmware-iwlwifi.
However, I can not know if the module is included in 2.6.32 kernel that debian stable has, not to mention if it supports your card. Please consider upgrading to kernel 3.2 that is on the backports repo, if you do not want to move to testing or unstable.
And please mention how is it EXACTLY identified in lspci (or lspci -nn if possible).

hi Jim.. thanks for your reply. while running the command lspci -nn root@debian:/home/harish# lspci -nn

Jim please reply me what to do next. Install both the above and reboot to your new kernel. I will check if 2.6.32 has iwlwifi and if it supports your card, later. Источник
